My holiday collection is rooted in the nostalgia and tradition of handmade ceramics, with each piece handmade, carved, painted, and kiln-fired in my home studio. Approximately 60% of my booth will feature my handmade ceramic Christmas tree, offered in a variety of sizes to suit everything from small shelves and tabletops to larger holiday displays. Inspired by the iconic vintage ceramic trees many of us remember from our childhoods and family holidays, I create my trees using the same traditional ceramic techniques while adding my own hand-carved and hand-painted details. The remaining 40% of my booth will feature a selected assortment of my handmade ceramic ornaments, including vintage Christmas tree trucks and designs inspired by Virginia, such as VA-shaped ornaments and pieces featuring our state bird, the cardinal. I will also have ceramic book vases, with designs featuring favorite holiday books such as A Christmas Carol and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Rounding out the collection will be 6” hand-painted dessert plates, perfect for holiday cookies and treats.
